Preschool was just 2 days, and then we had our preschool party day on Friday. Here are pictures from Wednesday and Thursday. First, outside pictures. The weather had been SO nice, and I got a few new things for the yard, not that I really needed anything more back there, but the kids loved it. See the new crocodile teeter-totter?
The preschoolers also spent some time decorating pumpkins for the party. They were all very particular.
But there was other fun to be had as well. This letter matching game was fun for Warren and Abby. Upper and lower case letters are a hot topic right now, so all the practice while they play is a good thing.
This week was also the last week for the trains for a while. They sure are fun! Of course, after making such a long train, each preschooler wanted a chance to count how many were in the line.
I put out these chunky beads and string for some more fine motor practice.
They tried out the new cupcake game. They follow a recipe and take turns building each cupcake. They did a great job and we played several rounds of it to make sure everyone had enough turns.
A quick table time activity was this Halloween character matching worksheet. I still have them here and will be sending them home next week.
At the end of the day on Thursday, I got out some of the Mega-Bloks. We didn't have much time to play with them that day, so they will be out next week for sure.
I covered the tables with paper for the preschoolers to explore and color. Lullaby made pictures of her friends, so sweet.
Sofia worked hard on finding the letters to her name and practiced tracing them with these large uppercase letters.
Finally the day of the party arrived and I filled up the table with the snacks that the preschoolers and I decided on. Although there were grapes, hummus and pita bread, and carrots, all the rest was junk food, which the preschoolers gladly gobbled up. Yum!
Jared hunted out the candy pumpkins out of the mixture of candy corns in the cauldron like it was his job.
I left a few balloons for the kids to try blowing up. I laughed out loud watching them try to get them big. It's such a hard task. My cheeks are sore looking at Jackson.
Christian loved the vampire teeth and got some for his friends too.
We even had a few siblings come to the party. The more the merrier!
I wanted to get pictures of all the amazing costumes too! And I love the poses they made. So much fun! We sure missed Warren, but we're glad he's feeling better!
At the party, we watched The 5 Little Pumpkins video that the preschoolers made. It was so cute to see their reactions watching themselves on TV! There is another video that we are working on too, that should be up soon. They had so much fun making this video. Everyone chose their own parts and everyone was happy to participate. Good job preschoolers!
